Alright crew,
Saturday on the jobsite is a different kind of energy.
Half the crew’s thinking about getting out early…
The other half already has.
Today’s topic: Shortcuts.
Now according to professionals, you’re supposed to follow the proper steps, take your time, and do things right the first time.
But according to Hammered Handyman field testing, the real system looks more like this:
1️⃣ Look at the full process… immediately ignore half of it
2️⃣ Convince yourself it’ll be fine
3️⃣ Commit fully
Now in theory, shortcuts save time.
In reality…
They just move the problem further down the timeline.
And usually make it harder to explain.
Because the shortcut doesn’t fail right away.
It waits.
Until everything is installed, finished, and painted.
Then it reveals itself.
At the worst possible moment.
And now you’re not just fixing the problem…
You’re undoing everything around it.
But hey — at least you saved five minutes.
Remember:
There’s nothing faster than doing it right the first time.
But that’s never stopped anyone.
We’re lowering expectations… one project at a time.
